The Measure of Metro Music

If knew how to play violin, filling concert halls, recognized by millions, would you go back to busking? Joshua Bell, one of the nation’s great musicians, tried just a thing as an experiment. The setting was, of all places, the L’Enfant Plaza Station in D.C. The time…rush hour! How many people would you estimate that would recognize such a talent? With the exception of a larger donation given by a lady that recognized him, the grand total for 43 minutes of playing totaled $32.17. Bell laughed, thinking it not so bad at 40 bucks an hour without having to hire an agent.
